The Geauga Growth Partnership is offering a series of five educational meetings for Geauga County businesses and other interested persons on the growing opportunities and challenges presented by the exploration, drilling, distribution and use of oil and gas from the Marcellus and Utica shale deposits. These deposits underlie a large part of eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, as well as other states in the Appalachian region and are estimated to contain significant quantities of oil and gas.

The five programs will focus on topics of critical importance to the growth of businesses that have—or can develop—products or services to serve oil and gas drillers and their ancillary industries.

“Understanding the Drill Site Supply Chain – The Business Perspective” on September 25, 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Punderson State Park in Newbury. Confirmed speakers: Bill Kinney (Summit Petroleum, Twinsburg); Jim Rose (Producers Service Corp., Zanesville); and Brooks Miller (Ken Miller Supply Co., Wooster). Program chair: Joseph Haas (Reserve Energy Exploration, Auburn). Registration for the first session is open and available at: http://ggpshalesupplychainconf.eventbrite.com
